Challenging Conversations and Leadership: Workshop for Managers in GP practice
This 3 hour training course* will introduce managers to models of leadership and the importance of having all types of conversations with their teams. We will focus on 2 types of conversation: Agreeing mutual expectations and challenging unhelpful behaviour.Using recorded actor scenarios, we will discuss the delegates approach to preparing and planning for an important conversation, employee and management tools that could help with this and how to build trusting relationships, which in turn, can positively influence work behaviour and performance.Delegates will have access to relevant and up to date documents, videos and links on the CMT Clarimed Training website following completion of this course.
Course Objectives
The delegate can recognise various leadership styles and know when to use them effectively
The delegate can name certain tools to help them prepare for conversations with team members
The delegate can compare various approaches to conversations using recorded actor scenarios
The delegate can describe how to have a crucial conversation with a team member, having listened to a phone call that does not reach Practice service standards
